- The Adult Opportunity Center (AOC) at ÑÇɫӰ¿â State Community College is offering a January orientation for new program enrollees in basic academic skills, GED preparation, and college readiness.

- At the Nov. 12 meeting of the ÑÇɫӰ¿â State Community College Board of Trustees, Fayette County Probate Court Judge David B. Bender presided over the swearing in of Bob McEwen whose appointment fills one of four vacancies on the college’s board.

Bob McEwen appointed as ÑÇɫӰ¿â State trustee
- Ohio Gov. John R. Kasich’s office has announced an appointment to the ÑÇɫӰ¿â State Community College Board of Trustees. Hillsboro native Bob McEwen will serve for a term continuing through May 11, 2018.

- In its second game of the season, the ÑÇɫӰ¿â State Community College soccer team defeated Penn State University – Greater Allegheny Aug. 31 in a sudden death overtime thriller.

Ladrach posthumously conferred title of ÑÇɫӰ¿â Faculty Emeritus
- As a tribute to the legacy of the late Professor Samuel N. Ladrach, Ph.D., the ÑÇɫӰ¿â State Community College Board of Trustees voted May 2 to confer upon him the title of Faculty Emeritus.
Info session set May 29 for ÑÇɫӰ¿â’s electromechanical degree
- Through a partnership between ÑÇɫӰ¿â State Community College and the DP&L Generation Center, students can earn an associate degree in Electromechanical Engineering or take general education courses that will fit into most academic pathways, all at the site in Manchester.

Education fares well in Governor’s annual address
- In his fourth State of the State address, Gov. John Kasich placed high importance on learning initiatives in Ohio, specifically citing the move to performance-based funding and the community college's role in workforce development, college credit in high school, and GED attainment.
